Maintenance Tasks to Tune-Up Your Car

Here are some of the tasks that you should complete during your vehicle tune-up.

As a car owner, it is your responsibility to maintain your vehicle.  While this means taking your car in to get serviced professionally, there are other maintenance tasks that you can take care of at home.  Here are some of the tasks that you should complete during your vehicle tune-up.
  • Check Your Tire Pressure
You should also check your car's tire pressure on a monthly basis.  Your car's owner's manual will list the optimal tire pressure for your vehicle.  You can check your tire pressure with a tire pressure air gauge, available at any hardware or auto parts store.  Please keep in mind that tire pressures are always given for cold tires, so make sure you check your tire pressure before driving.
  • Check Your Oil
Keeping your car's oil at the appropriate level is vital to your engine's performance.  You should check your oil at least once a month to ensure that it is at an acceptable level and isn't contaminated.  If your oil is very dirty, then it may be time to take your car in for an oil change.
  • Check Your Other Fluid Levels
In addition to your engine's oil level, you also need to check the level of other important fluids.  For instance, you should check your transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid to ensure that they are all at permissible levels. These are some of the tasks that you should complete during your vehicle tune-up.  Want another way to take care of your car?  Then make sure you have the right auto insurance protections in place.  For assistance with all your car coverage needs, contact the experts at Fuller Insurance Agency in Southern California to get started today.
