- Stay Connected. Bet you thought we were going to tell you to lose weight! While maintaining a healthy weight is important for your body, so is maintaining your social connections. Recent studies suggest that keeping a good community around you can do as much for your overall health as quitting drinking too much and smoking cigarettes, so pick up the phone and call your friend! Bonus: you can do it right from the couch!
- Take a Load Off. All too often, our resolutions require us to do more, more, more. Have you thought about doing a little less, though? Stress is terrible for your health and can lead to other issues like depression, heart disease, and insomnia. Create time for yourself to decompress in the new year. Maybe that means planning a vacation, but maybe it just means taking a bubble bath or doing some yoga!
- Sleep. Are you underslept? You’re not alone. Adults need at least seven hours of sleep each night to stay mentally and physically healthy, so make time to recharge!
